May 17, 2006 Typhoon Chanchu landed about 200 kilometers from my home in Dameisha. The original estimates gave it a near direct path over to Hong Kong and Shenzhen, but fortunately we were saved from the worst when it changed its course in the the last day and turned towards east. The day after the storm the weather was gorgeous - it was the most beautiful day!
